PREMIUM FRENCH WINES SELECTION

Area: Costières de Nîmes is a Controlled Designation of Origin (AOC in French) for wines that are produced in an area between the ancient city of Nîmes and the western Rhône delta, in the French department of the Gard. Formerly part of the Languedoc region of France, as the wines more resemble those of the Rhône valley in character than of the Languedoc, it is now part of the Rhone wine area and administered by the Rhône Wine committee which has its headquarters in Avignon. This very sunny (more than 250 sunny days per year) produces fruity wines with a soft texture and a very good balance.

Grape varieties: Grenache and Syrah. We select the grapes following grape variety, soil, and maturity.

Soil: pebbles soil.

Winemaking process: Traditional vinification with light pumping over in the early stage of the fermentation, followed by fermentation in temperature controlled tank.

Domaine des Frères Gilles is in charge of bottling this wine. The company was created in 1970. All the work, from vine growing to winemaking is taking care of by the family and year after year, they managed to expand their vineyards that represent 100 hectares nowadays.

Tasting notes: Ruby red robe with rich ripe fruits aromas. A silky structure with a refreshing aftertaste.

Service: To be served with red meat, deli meat and cheese. Temperature of service: between 16° and 18°C.
